该诈骗分子要求业主通过电汇将账单汇入一个与市政府无关的账户。所幸业主在付款前及时联系了市政府。
“为了帮助其他人避免类似情况，市政府出于预防目的分享了这一信息，并已将此事报告给阿伯茨福德警察局”。

阿伯茨福德将该事件描述为“冒充诈骗”，并警告说此类诈骗可以采取多种形式，“包括电子邮件、短信、电话、信件、二维码或虚假网站”。
